How do you get started customizing your camera?

I love the look of the rollei sl 3003 traveler and want to make my cameras look similar.

Start off with some lug charms, they're cool and a pro thing so you'll get a knowing wink from other photogs with them. I do wish they came in different colors though so I could be individual but then again everybody seems to like the red and black design.

Unfortunately the Rollei 2000/3000/6000 series are notoriously unreliable and will become e-waste at some point. They look kinda cool I guess, it's still a strong departure from making some of the most beautiful cameras in the world.

Try soft release shutter buttons. Though I know people that advice against it as it might damage some cameras such as the OM-1.

What's your alternative? Leave the strap on to get tangled all the time, when you dont need a strap?

I made my “quick release” type thing on all my cameras with split rings and lobster clamp on my strap. I like the look of the small gold coloured split rings over the chunky peak design knobs. I used to be super into peak design but these days I just basically only use it for my eos R now, and an instax wide I couldn’t get the split rings into lol.

Maybe so, I’ll reevaluate how I feel about it when it happens. For now though it’s pretty great. If I decide I want a different style of strap just throw the lobster clips on it and all my cameras are ready to go.

They’re the quick release nubs for peak design straps and accessories. It’s a handy thing if you’re taking strap on and off a lot, but after a few years I just found the system to be unnecessary. Even the “thin” strap they have still has the chunky ugly female end of the connectors and it’s just pointless if you just have one camera really. If I’m in a situation where I need the neck strap, I’m not often removing it. One thing that was nice was being able to use one strap with multiple gears, instead of needing to buy multiple straps.
