Has anyone else here started photography because of another hobby? I started taking pictures of my daylilies for record keeping.

i started photography because of shooting and i find the whole process relaxing. then i got back into again because of infrared testing on clothing/gear and i fell down the fake digital aerochrome rabbit hole so hard im contacting medical optic companies for filters.

tb550/660/850 triple bandpass filter it turns ress into yellow, whitoids turn yellow, water becomes poweraide and theres so much more varity in the pinks,reds,oranges and even purple in some cases. its as close to actual EIR as you can get digitally

I was digitizing a bunch of obscure records and bought a cheapo dslr to take pictures of the record sleeves.
Then I started taking it along on trips and kinda rolled into photography.
