When can we expect meaningful improvements on that front?

It's not all doom and gloom, but it seems to me like there is little to be excited about at the moment.
I just want a slightly higher megapickles body with faster readout and no loss of dynamic range, that is all I am asking.
When will global shutter be viable as mainstream technology? When can I finally say goodbye to mechanical shutter?
