I brought a fully manual old flash for my film camera for $20.
It only fires at full power and the only thing it has on it is a distance guide for each fstop.

ie at iso 100 film
f4=7 meters, f5.6= 5 meters, f8=3 meters, f11=meters.

How much leeway do I have here as I am not going to be measuring shit with anything but my eyeballs.

I found this random reference image on flickr which seems like film is pretty based and it just exposes everything for about 5 meters or so.

Does anybody have experience with manual flash on film cameras?
