>>4366074HDR is only useful in very rare circumstances nowadays. If you absolutely want to go the HDR way, use Picturenaut. It's an old free software developed by HDRLabs' Christian Bloch, which is basically impossible to find nowadays since HDRLabs went kill.
It has several tone mapping algorithms, some of which are global tone-mapping routines, which means that you will get a very minimal "hdr effect" and very clean image.
Here's my own copy of the installer, I guess no one's gonna download the file but I think it's a shame that this thing isn't downloadable anywhere trustable any more, so I'll put it here anyway.
