Without solid prospects for starting a family in a country with a shit economy, high divorce rates and a brutally anti-male combination of laws, and a growing presence of propaganda in public schools adding private tutors to the costs of reproduction, they had no reason to pursue degrees for careers, as they would never need careers. Instead they now self educate (arguably poorly) because college is too expensive to do for fun.
A great part of art was based on people with exposure to the art world being told who and what to like - mostly in college. Without exposure they form their own opinions without having intersectionality of he the colonialist narrative shoved down their throat and they see bruce gilden and think he's just shit. All that circlejerking and "thats old now, we're past it" the art world built is fading away and being replaced by basic human taste again, which means a return to attractive women posing in front of stuff.
