I've put my lenses into a food storage container with some silica dessicant. Body is in there too because it's convenient.

Is this a retarded idea? I live in a rather damp part of bongland and this house is old and... sweaty. 60%+ RH is not unheard of and causes me grief with 3d printing. I've not actually experienced issues with mold in lenses, but I'm being cautious here and want to be able to store them when I'm not using them for a few weeks.

The stupid questions thread is gone, but I'm just double checking this isn't some known terrible idea where silica off-gasses, lenses get cancer from BPA, or low humidity destroys things too.
