I'm a (replica) jeweler and how the fuck should I take my jewelry photo for my portfolio? My objectives are
1. showcase my creation on display stand and on model (myself)
2. showcase the detailed elements on my jewelry
3. a video maybe
4. showcasing the pieces as it is without too much superficial edits but at the same time enticing possible buyers
I don't have a budget to hire professional photographers so I'm doing everything by myself from admin to marketing.

you need any cheap camera that's aps-c or bigger with about 20mp or more (the more the better this means you can skip a 1:1 macro lens for some detail shots and just crop the photo instead), a zoom lens that's "pseudo-macro" (magnification of around 0.5x), a cheap godox flash like a tt350 that works in ttl, something to hold a big piece of white cardstock if your ceiling is colored or too far away, and a nice clean table to put a piece of dark black or matte colored cardstock on. install a raw editor for best results.

set image quality to raw
put the flash on your camera and point it at a low white ceiling/piece of reflective white cardstock
zoom in so the jewelry mostly fills the frame keeping in mind a potential square crop (or set the camera to square if it does that)
set the shutter speed to X sync (usually 1/250 or its own spot on the controls) and the aperture to at least f8, and focus on the thing keeping in mind that the zone of sharp focus grows backwards faster than it grows towards you with closing apertures, and that it is parallel to the camera sensor. most DSLRs and some mirrorless focus with the lens opened up so you're not seeing the final pictures sharpness.
turn the flash compensation up if its too dark, turn the iso up if the flash is already at max brightness
if things are turning white and you can not turn make them look normal by using the highlight settings in a raw editor, turn the brightness down and bring up shadows or bring up exposure and bring down highlights in a raw editor
use a circular polarizer filter if reflections are a problem

It reduces the intensity of reflections, which could allow for more detail to be shown instead of just highlights/glare.

Not much. Because it can selectively reduce only polarized light like reflections on non-metallic surfaces, glass, water &cet.

Whether or not you want video can affect your choice significantly. There are many cameras that have good enough AF for stills but underwhelming or outright bad AF for video. Some mft camera from panasonic might work well for that, but you're better off asking /vid/.
Getting the shot you want can be a pain because of the shallow dof, so it might be worth it to invest in a setup for that (macro rail, something to hold and position the subject; Keith Cooper has some decent videos on macro on YT).
