just swap the back. you have a hassy right?
jeskes aside in complete darkness you can cut the roll you're in the middle of shooting and put it in a container or develop it immediately. you develop your own film right?

I am genuinely thinking you need 2 cameras if shooting 35mm
one for black and white and one for color.
like if a nice sunset comes along I want color film, if some moody rain comes along I want black and white, I cannot know whats happening in the next week or 2 when I load my film until it happens.

1. put lens cap on
2. shoot and advance film until end
3. swap to b&w
4. shoot roll as desired
5. put old roll back in with lens cap on
6. shoot and advance to point you were at originally
7. profit

No, you need at least 5 cameras.
1 black and white
1 saturated color for landscapes and dindus (ektar, e100)
1 muted color for cars, kitsch, and whites (portra or vision3)
1 middle ground for dull days and snapshits (gold, ultramax)
1 tungsten balanced stock for gas stations and indoors

I just either rewind it early or shoot the whole roll in one go. My camera basically permanently stays on if there’s a roll in it so I don’t really have a choice.

Just get a black and white filter, they sell them at B&H, you just screw it on the end of your lens and it filters all the color out.
