Canon 7 is p good, huge fucking VF and quiet shutter. I was in this boat and quit the shitty Soviet rangefinders and got something decent. I love my 7 and put a full set of Soviet LTM glass on it, everything from the 20 to the 135, only problem is no hotshoe and only frame lines for 35, 50, 85-100 and 135. 28 if you count the very edges of the VF.
In the time and money you will spend finding a sorted Soviet rangefinder you could have already bought a Canon 7. Leningrad looks cool but they never work, just like Communism.
I paid 300 for my Leica IIIb, Barnack Leicas are getting cheap now.

>>4370088I have never once cut the leader on my III and they work fine, only Leicaphiles tell you to do that. The only camera I ever shot where I had to trim the leader was the GOMZ Leningrad because the take up spool is made for Soviet leaders which are shorter.
