>>4371322So here we are at now what, you you go to the BIG CAMERA part of gear sphere where it's about how SERIOUS you are about THE SHOT and your bigger, higher quality camera is the proof that you are now biting the bullet and embracing that you are a photographer. You want to be a photographer, right?
This is the part where you are carting around a d850, a sony A7R# with a GM lens (your first camera was probably an older non-R sony with a tamron lens), a fuji GFX, a bronica, a hasselblad, a mamiya MF, with the conscious intent to take photos. Maybe you even went full 4x5 - or 8x10! And almost immediately, you hate it and you hate yourself. You hate your Sony SQ-850R V 7II and you are getting tired of admiring the quality of 4x5 because after about 3 of your BIG CAMERA outings you will inevitably realize why you left the house.
You stopped fucking caring, and started wanting to take pics - but you were doing it for the wrong reasons, you were doing it to make your big camera worth it.
Now you sell your shit and go back to something like your first camera, which was probably an older sony with a tamron lens or a D750 with a nifty 50 or other "great IQ, great price" commonly rec'd FF kit. And you leave the gear sphere.
So concludes the journey most men with an internet connection take.
>>4371325I'm not writing about myself. I'm writing about others. Because you can see this whole story unfold over and over again.
>What camera should I buy?>This budget FF has the best IQ>No i am being a gearfag, the one you have with you, crop is lighter i dont need more>Wait yeah this looks like shit>But I wont cope, im ready to be a real photographer! BIG CAMERA!>Oh wait, it doesn't matter if I go past good enough. My first camera was good enough.>>4371327Non-hylics literally stop at step 1
HYLICS are people susceptible to the peer pressure that starts step 2 and sets them off on the gearfag journey
Now that you know, look for them around you. Look for their COPE.
