>>4380526>Not sure I absolute nailed focusYou managed a lot better than I do at least. (And I think the lack of hard stop at exact infinity might be as an an insurance policy to make sure you do have full infinity on the range, because if you try to put the hard stop at exact infinity and undershoot...) Or, well, perhaps I did get focus pretty right when I was out yesterday, but then instead I forgot that I had set my shutter speed for 16mm while I was shooting at 75mm, so the result was a bunch of decently sharp streaks... Oh well, that was just meant as "find the Andromeda galaxy" practice instead of actually trying to produce photos, and I did pull that off.
Pic is from an earlier trip, a bit of Milky Way that also happened to include Andromeda in the upper middle. Tried merging up a bunch of photos in Sirui, but got some very odd results out of that (probably the flats I'll try without them tomorrow) so this is just a single exposure.
>>4380540>thanks! If you can ID anything interesting in the shot I'd be curious to know, I don't know anything about astronomy.I've fallen in love with Stellarium, available both on desktop and as a phone app. In the latter case you can have it show what's right in front of the phone, ie if you see something in the sky you hold up the phone in front/next to it and you'll see on the star map what it is.
>>4380633Nice colours. Almost looked like you had managed to get a finger into the frame from the thumbnail.
