You need to ensure you properly understand how to focus the camera and get the right exposure.
You also need to ensure you correctly know how to load and unload film.
The absolute first thing you should do is waste a roll loading and unloading a roll of films few times.
It will ruin the roll of film but loading the film is not idiot proof, many people will fuck it up. Have the back open, make sure the film is winding forward properly, take like 5 photos, learn how to release the film and rewind it.
Save that fucked roll as your test roll for any other camera you buy. Careful not to rewind so far it fully goes into the canister.
Then you need your 2nd roll developed asap to make sure shutter working etc and your meter was working.
Metering is complicated and you won’t get good at it for years but you should get a lot of usable photos every roll.
And always look at the photos you took and think what you could do better, it’s only 36 photos so very easy to review.
