Agfamatic 100 and Expired Film

I can only find film from 1988/89 for this camera. Is it worth taking a gamble buying a 16 dollar roll? Not really into photography but after some shitty photographs when I’m out with friends.

Throw those types of cameras to hell, they were never good. Get a disposeable (or even better, ANY cheap 35mm point n shoot from the thrift store because then you can try different films)

I have a Nikon F 35mm I use occasionally. I enjoy going through the old photos my dad took with it so that’s the appeal to me to shoot film. I saw some decent(shitty) photographs on google with the Agfamatic that I would compare to a child using instagram filters for the first time.

I got the camera for free and would like to use it to ironically take shitty photos to an extent. Or should I just throw this thing away?

yeah don't bother, the film isn't going to work very well unless fridge stored, the film will be difficult to develop so many labs wont do it and it'll be difficult to scan so the lab might not do that either.

all in all, too much hassle for the actual results if you just wanna use it as a toy

the olympus trip or pen ee maybe? point and shoot cameras got pricy because of zoomer trends I'd check out what you can find at a local thrift store i think you will be overpaying if you buy online

Anything that takes regular 35mm film. Idk where you live but local marketplaces are good places to look. Thrift stores especially.
I can not recommend Ebay, everything there is hyped up and inflated.

Maybe try asking some relatives if they have old cams they bought while on vacation.
Buying plastic snapshot cams while on the plane or the airport were a common ocurrence.
