What is the point of modern medium format cameras? I get in the film days medium format was a professional camera for things like studio work. I've seen (and I would not suggest watching it because he sucks) a badflashes video where he shot the same scene on ektachrome on 35mm and 6x7 and the 6x7 was so much better, not just due to grain but tones and colors it was unreal. even 645 being basically grain free looks way better than 35mm especially if you are printing big that it makes sense for professionals to use medium format except in cases where size, weight, lens and tech considerations don't allow them to.
But digital medium format is only slightly bigger than "full"frame and pentax stopped making it and idk how many fuji makes but hasselblad only makes like 10,000 cameras per year. What general and medium is digital medium format even used for that you would notice the difference? modern full frames produce 45-60mp pretty much grain/noise free images. is hasselblad just leica for camera nerds now?
