>>4413692Well there is the little bit of sharpness you gain from the shorter flange distance and Leica glass is quite good, but they're definitely not competitively priced. Some people also think that the absence of mirror slap vibration on rangefinders means you get sharper images, though I've found there's plenty of SLR models that have very soft shutter actuations. From experience the OM2 is really soft, also very quiet, which many claim you need a rangefinder for too. It's quieter than my Canon V rangefinder for sure. You can also play with installing different foam compounds for your mirror dampener, helped a lot with my FM which otherwise would vibrate pretty substantially as the foam it had on it was rubbery dogshit. As for 645, yeah no way its sharper but most of the cheap 645 gear is huge mamiya stuff that's not really going to appeal to this market.
