You can take photos for all sorts of reasons, but to have other people care about them shouldn't be one.
I take photos because I like doing it, I like going to events, I enjoy editing, printing, framing etc.
To come back to your initial problem, the other anon was right in that you should be travelling. Even domestically would be a good idea.
