That's a fantastic idea. Getting a killer studio setup will do 100x more for your photography than spending 4k on lenses or cameras.

learn how to use flashes and modifiers. you'll need to get the flash off camera. start with something cheap like yongnuos and a transmitter, then later you can upgrade to fancy. mess around with positions, bouncing, shooting through scrims, etc
