Contrary to you, a newfag to film, I have made really good 40x50cm enlargements from 35mm Delta 100, using Nikkor-EL enlarging lenses. And they look shockingly good.
FP4 is noticeably grainer and less sharp. FP4 is great if you push it to EI 500. Used at 125 it is inferior in many ways to Delta 100. In the same way that HP5 works amazing at 1600 and 3200 but if you were to shoot 400-speed, Delta 400 would be a better choice.
Delta 100 competes against Fuji Acros 100 and Tmax 100.
Tmax 100 doesn't have such a nice tonality. Delta 100 has a much, much better tonality/color response.
Fuji Acros 100 has smaller grain but it isn't really a 100-speed film. If you use it at 100 (develop for 100), the contrast will be pumped up.
