>>4455382>>4455388might depend on the type of travel and your personal goals for portability. as well as your image quality standards. i'd say apsc systems are the best combination of price, portability, and power for most travelers. nice thing about a cheaper camera is lower risk. ie you are less likely to baby it, therefore you can focus more on enjoying your trip. and if it breaks, you're not out as much money.
for certain cases like if you are doing a road trip, there's little reason not to bring a big clunker camera. ultimately it's way too personal to give much advice on beyond simply trying different systems and seeing which compromises you are happiest with in practice
lens size is as important as body size for portability, and generally there are more compact options for apsc. still, there are quite a few compact setups on ff. as far as mirrorless goes, i'd personally love an m10 with a 35mm voigtlander on the front for travel
deciding apsc vs ff is a bit narrow-minded of a way to start your search. imo just skip to the relevant parameters which is what complete kit would you like to carry around. lens, body, battery, strap, bag, etc. evaluate your options as a holistic system
