If you plan on shooting sports or action, you want something with really good autofocus and tracking so a newer body would be better. If you're doing more studio work in controlled lighting environments it might be better to get a really sharp lens and an older FF body like a DSLR. Personally I shoot real estate, and for that the body doesn't matter that much, since you're always on a tripod anyway. I spent about 50% more money on an ultra-wide angle with low distortion and good sharpness than I did on my outdated camera body.
