Think of it like this. Antidepressants carry significant risks. They have been implicated in suicide, homicide, unwanted personality changes, and severe weight gain. Should everyone take them of they’re in a bad mood, or only severely deranged people whose depression can not be cured by addressing an unfulfilling life. That doesn’t mean they are a killer drug that doesn’t work… it also does not mean they are universally safe and effective and everyone should thoughtlessly take them.
If people understood nuances like this, there would be more trust in the healthcare system. When people like you scream if-ya-aint-an-idjit dogma like a red scare era demagogue, you actually make that worse.
