you're overpaying by like $1500 buying new, there's nothing that's been done with image sensors and there are tremendous diminishing marginal returns above ~20MP unless you're doing something like sports/plane/astrophotography
if you're going to be shooting people and portraits just get a D750 body and a 50mm 1.8D/G
my favorite camera in the world is my D3 and that's a relative dinosaur with 14MP.
