The GOAT: Nikon Z6 with 50mm S Line

No.4500934 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Today, I want to let everyone know that I discovered with mathematical certainty that the Nikon 6 (First gen) and the amazing S line 50mm 1.8 is the ultimate photographer's tool.

Let me break down why:

1) Uses blazing fast QxD cards and not poxxy, slow and prone to breaking SD cards. These are the industry standard and gen 2 was a huge step back adding an SD card to the system.
2) The 50mm 1.8 is unparalleed in sharpness and AF speed. It's size is not too small or too big. It is perfect in hand for anyone with proper man's hands and its controls are sublime. Developed by a lens designer who really understood what photography is.
3) The bokeh is objectively perfect on 1.8 and looks better than Canon's 50 1.2 which is nervous and ugly.
4) World class eVF
5) Affordable because foolish people think the older generation means worse, so you can buy one of these for under $800 now and that means you can actually use these in the field and get them dirty, muddy, wet and if it breaks, as any camera may in such conditions, it is replacable. Much better than buying an inferior Sony a7v or Canon R6 and having to baby it, thus getting no good photos.
6) It just looks "pro". It looks like a precision tool and not a gimmicky PlayStation toy like Sony or a ugly Canon blob. You will feel confident using this piece of Nippon machinery.
7) Yasujirō Ozu is the best director from Japan and he ONLY used a 50mm lens in all of his 35mm shots. You are following in the footsteps of a legend by forcing a 50mm perspective, which is the closest to the human eye as you can get. Photography is about reality. Using wide or telephoto lenses is one step closer to AI made slop.

I could be here all day guys. The fact of the matter is: Nikon Z6 Gen I (do not be fooled by the Gen II downgrade!) and the world class S line 50mm 1.8 is the definitive and final choice for all photographers to create absolute kino (and look good while doing it!).
