>Fregoli Delusion is a delusional misidentification syndrome where a person wrongly believes that different people they encounter are actually a single, familiar person in disguise, often a persecutor. This rare condition is named after Italian actor Leopoldo Fregoli, known for his ability to rapidly change his appearance. Although the individual accurately perceives faces, there is a disruption in how identities are attributed and familiarity is processed, leading to significant distress and anxiety.
