Anon the next live show is NYE. The full build was already taped this past week. They taped stuff to tease a rematch but no actual match was announced or confirmed yet. The only reason that would be is if they weren't sure if it will happen. The only reason I can see why they wouldn't be sure is because Thea injured Monroe and her recovery timetable wasn't known yet

There's 2 worlds of thought:

If you want to protect kayfabe, you count the pin.

Except in this instance counting the pin completely ruined kayfabe because it wasn't the planned finish and they played the wrong music and everyone was confused. The crowd even thought she kicked out to the point that it wasn't until he called for the bell that it brought attention to it. Her should was coming up right before the 3 anyway so if he had just called it 2.9 regardless of if he hit 3 then that would've kept things going far, far smoothly and actually done more to protect kayfabe. I 100% understand the point you're trying to make there, and generally speaking I agree and think it's the right move. This specific instance feels like an outlier though
