The 4-way main event, if you're a non-tribalist, looks exciting and will have the crowd at a fevered pitch, but the build has been mostly crap. No teased truce between MJF/Opps, no implanting the idea into Swerve's head that Hangman is only fooling him and will stab him in the back to regain his title. It's just your typical pull aparts, contract signings, mundane garbage.
It's a pareto/reverse pareto situation. 80% of AEW wrestlers are highly talented and want to entertain the fans, 80% of AEW management are snakes and lazy shitheads milking the money mark. That's why they can't get any long-term momentum, too much pandering to Dave and the megamarks, not enough trying to siphon bored WWE viewers and lapsed fans.
But none of that means the AEW PPV today won't still be awesome, it will be. In a vacuum.
