yes and no. it's good for their model because the matches are mostly interchangeable on the card but i think it's a valid complaint from someone coming from a more american wrestling idea. there are feuds and macthes of course but they are buried under mostly uninteresting by the numbers trios matches and get ignored for weeks at a time.

The big thing is that lucha style doesn't really translate to non-lucha fans. "Lucha" style that people think of i.e. WCW cruiserweight/Japanese light heavyweight style is a different thing entirely and lucha guys adjust to working that when they're outside of Mexico and AAA under WWE has basically, on its bigger shows anyway, adapted to that style. Actual Mexican lucha matches are so completely different in overall flow and style compared to most other types of wrestling (and a lot shittier).

Yeah, lucha is very different from other styles of wrestling. Japanese wrestling is a lot closer to US wrestling than lucha is. But lucha to most American fans is flips.

The one thing I do like about lucha is that the heels and faces usually do know how to play their roles. Even at the lower levels of lucha, the heels actually act like heels.
