>>18186881>was it actually good or just Stockholm SyndromeIt's a mixed bag and it really depends on what you seek from a game
>Roster2K16 to 18 had a lot of Attitude era content, so the leftover legends provided a healthy mix for old heads and new alike. 2K22 onwards, it's VERY rigid on how many "legends" get featured and the variety has been lacking.
>MyRiseCareer mode gave us Manny voicing Cole Quinn in a fun story about "Buzz". It didn't require any P2P features like the prior attempts at making MyPlayer more like NBA. Baron is rightfully made a old unlikeable prick at long last. But it's not quite the career/season mode some want, which leads us to the next point
>Universe ModeYukes is still involved, so it still sort of works. 2K ditching Yukes has basically turned this mode into a non-entity and it's a shame too given how fun it was on the 360/PS3 era. It's the one mode that could really salvage the brand that 2K is adamant on otherwise avoiding. Just let me book my show and pick cutscenes that play. Instead it's just existing
>Creation modesThe damage 2K20 did is still felt even in 2K25. 2K19 had the most amount of layering options, shit aligned as it was meant too, logo issues weren't a thing. The body morphing parts feature meant you could actually make someone fat have a big ass etc. 2K has ADDED items sure, but has also made so most can't be used without Cheat-engine or glitches. Whereas things like Create-An-Arena or Belt don't hard crash the game.
>Misc. talking pointsTower was dumb but it was something to do to test yourself against the A.I, like the Mickie James vs. Khali challenge mode from 07. This was the LAST game to have a DLC pack focused on moves. Since 2K22, the mocapped move quality has diminished sooooo fucking hard. Move-set DLC was always a joy. Grapple system remains solid. Stamina system works in A.I vs. A.I. No half-baked GM mode or MyFaction. Lighting and modding however? Awful. Two areas 2K have maximised
