Triple H's booking faults do not mean Vince McMahon and his style of wrestling was superior. Yes, the shows are often formulaic. The main events are mostly by the books. The booking rarely goes out of the box with creativity. The shows themselves are very serious, with minimal light-heartedness and maximum promoting of sponsors and other ventures. Triple H has made plenty of mistakes, and will make many more.
However, that does not mean that what he is doing is in any way inferior to: godawful unfunny comedy, 3 week pushes, the "one mistake and you're done" mentality, tag team and stables lasting one year at most, midcard titles not meaning anything, a made up SPORTS ENTERTAINMENT lexicon, wrestlers wearing nothing but their merch, overly scripted promos, questionable antiquated gimmicks, on and on.
I would much rather live with the safe and boring but mostly effective Triple H booking than watch Omos vs Veer Mahaan for the WWE Title, and Madcap Moss vs Austin Theory vs Brock Lesnar as this year's WrestleMania main events, please and thank you.
