He was literally lower on the card than most of the Luchadores for most of Nitro’s run. Except for maybe a small slice when Scott was champ at the very end and he would come out with him. Rick wasn’t even as over as other TV champ contenders. Norman doing the big wiggle or Ernest Miller would get bigger pops than Rick, after people stopped barking he was literally a piss break. Pretty much all the Luchadores they would feature were solidly over. Certainly Rey, Juvie, La Parka, Ultimo Dragon and Eddie. Really that’s the majority of them. No one had beef with “flippy shit” and no one tossed around the word “smark” so casually it’s an era you don’t seem to understand. The Smark bait of that era was firmly Russo-shit. Throwing around inside baseball terms and doing worked shoots. That’s what they thought appealed to internet fans who were the Smarks.
