Hell, I don't wish it would fail either, I think a lot of people are just actively upset or frustrated with it.
The company does have good talent. I have no doubts that the people in charge do like wrestling. It's just frustrating to me personally as someone who watches the show whenever I feel like it and being disappointed.
I dunno I feel like I'm more frustrated at AEW's stagnating and it's lack of presentation and just the issues it has. WWE's changed over the past 3 years and I think Covid unironically was the boost in the arm it needed.
AEW isn't a competitor to WWE and I think that was the biggest issue they've ever had with their presentation, branding and otherwise. I have to remind myself it's been like 12 years since TNA went head to head with Raw on Monday Nights. Raw was right in the PG era and it was absolutely awful or "so cringe it was hilarious" period, while TNA had a bunch of indepedent talent, Knockouts, recent WWE signings and old timers who were there to collect a paycheck. AEW never went head to head, hell the segments it does is different from even what WWE does, it's just a different thing all together.
Ultimately, that might just be why it's so controversial. It's origins as a company are obviously so tied to WWE and "competition" but I don't actually think it ever was even in it's early days.
