>>18841005I enjoy his "What Went Wrong" series where he diagrams on-screen famous wrestling moments that went south. Made me realize that there a lot of blame to go around the famous Goldberg kick that "ended" Bret Hart's career:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=N7ze6dJGJ_YThe back bite of the ring (and the fact that the WCW ring is considerably smaller than the WWF ring Bret was used to so he had less reaction time coming off the ropes to get his arms safely to protect his head) probably was just as much a contributor. Bret also has a considerable reservoir of head/neck bumps on his card clipped before this match and then Bret would go on and CONTINUE TO WRESTLE several matches the next day which could turn a single concussive event into Post-concussion syndrome. Ultimately Goldberg was an extremely tall wrestler of those that employed the Superkick at the time (HBK was shoot 5'11" max, while Goldberg is 6′ 4") and the height differential to Bret's 6' 0" made the spot a risk bet.
