Last year, Saori Anou signed an exclusive contract with Stardom, a rare move that allows her to compete in other promotions. Since her professional wrestling debut in 2015, she has competed in a variety of promotions and made her name known. Now, with her potential fully blossoming, Anou's charm has been revealed, leading the yokozuna of the women's professional wrestling world, Meiko Satomura, to say that she is "the symbol of the current women's professional wrestling world."
"A cool beauty with hidden passion." That was the impression I had of Anou. However, as soon as the interview started, or rather, the moment we happened to bump into each other at the meeting place, that impression changed dramatically.
>"People often say that I'm cool at autograph signings, but in reality I'm completely different (laughs). People are often surprised and ask me, 'You really talk so much?' When it's a match, a switch comes on and I get into fighting mode."
Anou made her debut in 2015 with Actress Girls and soon began competing regularly in Stardom. After that, she joined other organizations and became a freelancer, before returning to the Stardom ring in 2023 for the first time in six years. A year and a half after rejoining Stardom, Anou has already become an indispensable presence in the organization.
>"Thank you. But I thought that it had to be that way. If I was going to make it to Stardom, there's no point if I didn't make Saori Anou's presence known. I gained experience in various organizations (including men's organizations), and the accumulation of all the hardships and joys I experienced has made me the Saori Anou I am today, so if I had lost even one of those experiences, I wouldn't be here now. That's why, although there was a time when I didn't make it to Stardom for many years, I have no regrets about the steps I've taken. I can hold my head high and believe that all of my experiences were truly for my own good."
