>Why do smarks always jerk off over AJPW & the Four Pillars rather than picrel, Genichiro Tenryu, or Kensuke Sasaki?
The pillars had great matches across three decades. Tenryu was pretty unremarkable in the 90s, he had some must see stuff, but WAR made him lazy, it really wasn't until he became a bitter old man in the 00s that his work started clicking again. Kensuke was pretty much the big lug that needed to be carried until the 2000s, he has some great stuff in the 90s but very little of it is because of him.
>Why do millenial wrestlers claim they do British/American/Indie Strong Style when they're doing a King's Road LARP?
New Japan has pretty much adopted the bombastic All Japan style, but still insist on calling it strong style, the word just doesn't mean what it use to. 2000s indie guys were probably more influenced by Super J and the WCW luchadores than King's Road, with the exceptions being the actual heavyweights like Joe and Kingston. As far as the british influence, outside of a few guys directly stealing spots I don't see it either. If kids these days aren't going to watch Ric Flair I doubt they're actually watching Les Kellet or Steve Wright.
