Why do so many marks always take what wrestlers say at face value? Even when it's supposed to be real or a "shoot", you have to always assume you're being worked. There are more conmen in wrestling than almost any other business and it's all designed to take the money from your pocket by any means necessary. Dirtsheet writers especially don't know shit about what really happens backstage and it's a fact that many of their supposed "sources" and "leakers" feed them bullshit just to stir up controversy or make their subscribers (marks) feel like they're "in" on the business and happenings backstage when the reality is, again, that they don't know shit. I'm just saying, it's a little odd to see anything not explicitly labeled or implied as kayfabe always be taken at face value
