I'm gonna make this post not to defend Cucknette because I don't give a shit about him. But the reason why sex crimes are more heavily stigmatized than homicide despite the latter having more of a negative impact, is that there are more reasons one might excuse murder. There's self-defense, war. Could be a crime of passion as it only takes a few seconds to take a life if you have a firearm. In that case people won't defend you but they'll be able to partially empathize with you. They'll understand why someone who walked in on their spouse cheating or was bullied for years suddenly snapped. That's what most people attribute Benoit's case to. A sudden outburst of a brain damaged man who's decision-making was severely impaired.
On the other hand, there is no reason to ever sexually assault a woman other than pure hedonism. I want to please myself, I want to get MY cock hard, and I don't care what shit other people have to go through for me to meet that goal. And so people call for the heads or at the very least permanent incarceration of these so called "sex pests". Not necessarily to punish them, but to keep them away from society. Because they don't feel safe knowing that people with that mindset may walk among them. I'll put it another way that men would probably be able to relate to more. Let's say you have an 8-year-old son. You have to go away on a big business trip, and you have two choices for a babysitter. One is Scott Hall, the other is Pat Patterson. Who do you trust more? The murderer, or the rapist?
