Dave rated this match negative 4 stars, making it one of the worst matches of all time (according to Dave). Anyone that watched it knows that's FAR from the truth. Dave continued to blast Hogan at every opportunity in his newsletter and is the main reason his cult hates Hogan to this day. It has nothing to do with supposed "racism" from a few years ago either. That's just an excuse.
The truth is, WCW relied HEAVILY on Hogan to push them into the mainstream to be viewed with every bit as much public clout as the colossal WWF. WCW had several stars, but it was Hogan that put them on the map, and it was Hogan's involvement with the nWo angle that made it such a phenomenal success.
Once Hogan stepped back from WCW, THAT was when it failed! Anyone that is honest and watched back then could see it.
And then when Hogan goes back to WWF, he's immediately a huge star again, a huge draw, and the crowds love him in spite of the other stars already there. Hogan, as a heel, was cheered over The Rock, as a face! That says it all about Hogan's sustained popularity, and why it's bullshit for Dave to claim Hogan wasn't a draw in 1998 when he was in fact still a massive draw until at least 2002.
