WWE Hall of Famer Goldberg made it clear that he will have a retirement match in 2025 and that instantly made fans wonder who would end up challenging him in his last match. That being said, Goldberg has now addressed Ryback’s constant challenges towards him.
For the past few years, former WWE star Ryback has been making headlines for constantly calling out Goldberg for a retirement match. His challenges have gone unanswered for a long time as no one expects Goldberg to genuinely accept Ryback’s challenge anyway.
During a recent episode of The Cat’s Corner Podcast, the host asked Goldberg about the possibility of facing his final opponent, referencing Ryback by asking, “What’s that guy’s name? He wants you so bad, he just love you. He wanna be you, I won’t bring his name. Are you talking about the guy that’s always hungry?”
Although Goldberg didn’t directly name Ryback, he asked the host to keep his identity private. He said he understood and appreciated the challenge but made it clear that he wasn’t interested in accepting it. Goldberg explained that he works in a different way and isn’t the right person for that match right now, but he wasn’t insulting Ryback in any way.
>“I’m greatly appreciative of his passion, period. But I’m not that guy. I work in different ways, Ernest, you know that… And I’m just not that guy. I’m honored, and I get it and I see the reasoning, but right now I’m just not that guy. It’s not that I’m insulting him in anyway shape or form. I’m just not that guy right now; you can read whatever you want into that.”Goldberg also addressed potentially facing Ric Flair in his retirement match and made it clear he really didn’t want Flair to die again. Therefore, only time will tell who will end up becoming Goldberg’s final opponent, as fans can more or less rule out Ryback now.
