What was billed as the biggest return in years ended with the whimpers of a frightened dog. Less than a year after his AEW debut, Chicago Phil had his last match with the company and left, having put over nobody that wouldn't get over on their own, and having somehow lasted less than a week as active champ across two reigns.
All in all, Punk fell victim to his own ego. But more than that, he fell victim to Adam Page, Jon Moxley, and a steel rail. Rarely has one man lost so much and so many times, in his native Chicago. And to that, we can all say KWAB
