No one ever liked Punk.
It was the WWE of yesteryear we all liked, and from the time Punk cut the pipe bomb, we weren't cheering and crazy for him, we were avid about the premise of Punk being the figurehead to push WWE back into the attitude era and give us ice cream bars and champions we liked.
