Disband the nWo, have Hogan fuck off for a bit like
>>7588792 suggests, afterward, WCW forces Hall/Nash to form the Wolfpac after trying to get rid of them, they feud with WCW.
Wolfpac can be younger guys (Konnan, Booker, Steiner, Bagwell) while WCW is focused on older guys (Luger, Savage, Sting, Flair), Nash calling out WCW management for not letting younger guys get a push, Benoit, Eddie and Malenko stay in WCW, not wanting to get involved and call the Outsiders out for ruining the company with nWo shenanigans, which ends up bringing them into the feud anyway.
Guys like Stevie Ray and Rick Steiner feud with their brothers for moving to the Wolfpac. 1998 becomes WCW/Wolfpac, Blue vs. Red. Basically Raw vs. Smackdown before Raw vs. Smackdown, even inverting the colors contrasting with WWF.
Bret Hart makes his way to the top, establishing himself in WCW. Owen also comes along and does some matches with the cruiserweights, his death prevented. Put Goldberg back in the Power Plant for another six months, then have him as WCW's secret weapon to take out the Wolfpac. At this point either Nash/Hall go back up north or they stick around in the midcard, Hogan comes back around summertime.
Put the main title on Booker T. as a heel, have Steiner win it off him by Starccade '98, that establishes Booker/Steiner's feud for 1999, rivaling Austin/Rock.
Keep Bischoff from leaking Mankind's win and have Thunder as a monthly recap show leading up to the pay-per-views.
