Turning her face, turning her heel, using her military background as a gimmick, giving her a southern belle gimmick, having her just randomly walk onto the stage and walk off every thing, pairing her with Ric Flair, at one point she was on both Raw and Smackdown at the same time but she was a face on Smackdown and a Heel on Raw????
Then after she's released she has multiple interviews with CVV, a bunch of podcasters etc. where she straight up says she has no passion for wrestling, just saw it as a way to get good money, to get on TV, and didn't care about working harder and won't wrestle again. And the reason she wasn't that good in the ring is because she didn't care enough to try to improve. That was apparently enough to make Vince go "OH, NEXT TOP FEMALE STAR"
But eh, once Vince sets his eye on something, it's set.
