So here's the thing. Even though the N64 No Mercy and other wrestling titles were 4 player, I was usually playing alone in my room by myself. I'm a grinder when it comes to just about every game, and that changes contextually for each game and genre yet the principle remains the same.
I can see myself grinding out 1v1 matches for some time, even if the other player is a dumb as fuck CPU. I was literally doing the same shit over 20 years ago, I still do the same thing today. I still sell my businesses in GTA in solo lobbies. I still practice my Street Fighters offline. This sounds like a little slice of heaven to me, I just need the gameplay for now. I'm willing to wait until the next installment for more bells and whistles.
