Dave's "friend" would need to be someone so high up in the company that they are in deep with the TKO board itself. They would also somehow have to be friendly with all of those involved to the point they were either involved in or immediately told about high level booking meetings and future plans.
And then you add on Dave not saying a word about this, and even saying that nothing was going on up until Rock appeared.
