>[STARDOM] Sayaka Kure gains confidence after winning the Cinderella T... declares war on Saya Kamitani "I'm not the same person I used to be"
>Sayaka Kura (24), who won the women's professional wrestling organization Stardom's spring festival, the Cinderella Tournament, for the first time, has expressed her determination.
>One year and four months after her debut in December 2023, Kuri won the tournament for the first time at the Ota Ward tournament on the 15th. She broke the previous record of one year and 11 months set by 2021 champion Saya Kamitani for the shortest debut victory, and made her mark in the history of the group. "It's still like a dream, I can't believe it. But I'm proud and humbled to have broken the record for the shortest debut victory in a tournament that has seen such impressive athletes win in the past," she said.
>Before she won, she was anxious about being behind her peers. "I didn't have any athletic experience, so I was late in winning my first match, and I felt like a dropout. There was a time when I worried that it would be difficult to get close to the top of Stardom," she confessed. "But I gained confidence from fighting two matches in one tournament, and against strong opponents, and I think I've leveled up," she said proudly.
>At the tournament on the 20th, she will face world champion Saya Kamitani in a singles match. She will face her own master, Tam Nakano, in a "loser retirement match" at the Yokohama Arena tournament on April 27th, and she revealed her feelings about the one-on-one with Kamitani. "Tamu helped me win Cinderella, so I really don't want her to retire... I entered Stardom because I admired Kamitani, and I definitely want to surpass her. But I don't think it's meaningful unless I surpass her in the same ring. I'm the one who won Cinderella and am on the rise, so I'm going to show her that I'm different from who I was before and win," she declared.
