2k22 was too arcadey. The AI was terrible, no wrestlers ever sold any moves until the very end of the match. It felt more like the old New Gen game the Mortal Kombat guys made than a No Mercy or even Here Comes the Pain.
This game still has the combo system which is an overall positive I'd say but the gameplay itself is smoothed out. Some of the animations are too fast and shit like I said above but overall, it's an improvement.
I guarantee you that I have more hours in Fire Pro (Returns, World, or otherwise), VPW2, No Mercy, King of Colosseum 2, etc, than almost anybody on this board because I'm an oldfag and I can safely say that 2k23 is pretty solid so far. They cleaned up a lot of 2k22's messes.
