Wrestling should try and create an emotional connection with the audience so they care about who wins and loses.
Unfortunately the modern in ring style completely ignores this so the only way people develop attachment to wrestlers is through their social media. Unless you're watching WWE out of pure loyalty or AEW out of pure spite for WWE, the only people watching are extremely online.
