We are in a era where lot of the notable names in the biz has risen there because they could put a name on the table through reaching a level of match that makes the audience feel something, feel invested during the match - through rhythm and the same psychology tricks that always have been there
- Exception being those who got truly over at some point, usually through being over for a long time that their sloppy shit matters less. Take Carder for example, his legacy and gimmick was so over he could get away with just doing one solid match a year and some minor appearances to prop the main event up, a lot is forgiven and the event of seeing some old decrepit legend is more important and fun than the actual technical aspects of the match.
