Bret Hart is all about working safe. He wants stuff to look good but to be light as possible. The first thing he ever says about himself is how proud he is that he never hurt anyone in the ring. This is how he was taught and the kind of wrestling he mastered.
Misawa, on the other hand, was from a school of wrestling thought where you left everything in the ring. You put your body on the line. You took shots and you left your mark on your opponent in turn. These guys would take bumps that no one else in wrestling would take and they took them (mostly) safely because they were highly, highly skilled. Again, a master of his style but an absolute clash with Bret Hart.
Both great though.
